There are actually 4 main ways for websites to earn from.
1. Selling Products – This is the best way to make money through a website and the most common one too. It is also a widely used method. You can use your website as a platform for your business to sell products or services.
2. Display Ads – This is a classic method to make money online, But, unless your website has hundreds and thousands of visitors per month, the income from displaying ads will be small.

Apart from these 4 ways, there are tons of new methods and strategies coming up that help you earn from a website. Let’s look at them below, Here are some of the best ways to earn money from a website.
15 Ways To Earn Money From A Website
1. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular and not to mention the quickest way to start making money from your website or blog, It is also my personal favourite and recommended way to earn from your website. You start off by looking for a product you like and would recommend to your readers.
Then on your website, you endorse and promote the product to your visitors and email subscribers. If the product or service is something that the people like, they will click on your affiliate link purchasing the product for which you will receive a commission.
Commissions usually range from 30% to the highest at 70%. For instance, you promote an e-book that costs $150, you’ll get $70 for referring the book to the buyer. Isn’t this simple & awesome? To learn more click on the link below –

2. Banner and display adverts
You can easily set up adverts on your website using Google Adsense or Media.net by copying and pasting the code into your website to create adverts that are relevant to your website & the visitors coming to your site.
There are a number of networks out there that pay you every time a visitor clicks on an advertisement (CPC) or per 1000 impressions (CPM). You can also sell banner ads directly to companies with relevant products/service that relate to your website.
3. Pay Per Click Advertising (Google Adsense)
AdWords are the advertisements that you see on the top of the Google search results. Adsense is the reverse, allowing publishers to tap into Google’s vast advertising network so that they can run ads on their website. The best part is that the system of doing so is quite simple.
Once you sign up, Google will place a simple code on your website that will identify the content of your website and start displaying relevant advertisements.
For example, if your website is about Drones, Google AdSense will start showing your visitors ads for drones, best drones for selfies/videos and much more. And you get paid everytime someone clicks on the ad.
You can get a commission from $0.50 to $5 per click. When you start getting hundreds and more number of visitors, you can make thousands of dollars each month.
4. Sell to email subscribers
This is actually a good way of making money. It is recommended to start an email list when your site is new (I don’t use this yet but have read posts that highly recommend it). You can get your account with AWeber to capture your audience to communicate with them even after they have left your website. you can then email them some of your recommended products or when you write a review or blog post that might be interested in and earn various commissions if they sign up or buy something.
5. Sell Your Own Digital Product (Ebook for Example)
You have a great potential to make the most money on a per sale basis is when you can sell your own product directly. That is because there is no middle-man or person in between that taking a part of the money earned. This approach is fairly straightforward because you can simply sell these products directly through your website and get paid immediately.
Sadly, it’s not simple to create a good product, it requires a lot of efforts, resources and polishing a well-designed landing page and more. So there are a ton of hidden costs in creating your own product.
6. Sponsored Posts
One of the common ways to make money from a website is by getting those visitor numbers going up. Once you have done all the hard work of building steady traffic coming to your site daily with an engaged community, there are a few more ways then banner ads to monetize your hard work. One of them being Sponsored posts.
Sponsored Posts is an advertisement in the form of an article which usually contains the advertiser’s website link. There are two ways this is done, the advertiser may send you an article or ask you to write one, if you write an article for them, you can charge for it. When done right, you can earn $45 to $200 for a sponsored post.
For instance, there are a number of companies out there that look for blogs that will feature their sponsored content. You can also review their products. When this is done right it is a win-win but if done wrong (with irrelevant content), it will spoil the readers’ goodwill that you have worked so hard to build it.
The best way to get noticed is by joining the ‘blogger groups’ on Facebook and share your website there because that’s where the advertisers will be looking.
7. Accept Donations From Visitors
If your site is new and you don’t have a ton of monthly traffic coming into your website, but you do have a strong, supportive and engaged community. Simply ask your readers/visitors to donate. Accepting donations isn’t a fast road to earning tons of money but it can definitely help you cover up your expenses in the short run if people like what you have to say and wish to support you on your journey.
Paypal offers ‘donation buttons’ that only take 10 minutes to add to your website, offering you a quick way to cover your expenses on a good web hosting, new product, research and all the other costs that are incurred to maintain a healthy and active website.
8. Product reviews
There are a number of companies out there that will pay you for reviewing their products on your website. You can get paid for reviewing all sorts of products. Sign up to Toluna and SurveryBods to receive the latest opportunities.
9. Amazon Store Page
You can easily add in a separate store page to your website & recommend products that are relevant to your visitors, earning up to 10% commission on product sales if they buy something. Sign up to Amazon’s Affiliate Program and use their store widget to create this page.
10. YouTube Video Content
Creating videos is slowly becoming a Must now, with at least millions of people who spend up to 4 hours a day watching videos. Creating videos for your website will help you keep your visitors entertained and it can help you earn some cash too. Monetise videos by uploading them onto YouTube and setting up Google Adsense. Then embed your YouTube video to your blog, if your video becomes popular, you can earn hundreds in ad sales.
11. Display pop-ups advertisements
Honestly, Pop-ups are super annoying and people actually hate them. However, they can also earn you some money.
12. Use Content Lockers
Content locking is a way of hiding or protecting some of your content until the visitor takes action to view it. For instance, you can ask them to pay a small amount, or click on an advertisement or sign up to your email list/ newsletter.
13. Display Audio Ads
These type of ads are quite new but are increasingly becoming popular. Personally, I haven’t tried it yet but have seen it on a number of websites and have read a few articles on this and it looks good.

Who doesn’t love a discount coupon? A lot of people eagerly look for discounts and promo codes for literally everything from clothes to makeup to vacations. If you find a relevant offer, you can also get a good cut of revenue from it.
